“I have been working in the financial planning industry for about two years,” says Marqus, “but I’ve been around the industry my entire life, thanks to my parents’ professions. This includes working directly with many financial agents and advisors across the country. I’m also working towards multiple licenses, including the Insurance license, Series 65, RICP, and CFP. I hope to have all of them in the next three years.”
In his role at Retirement Architects, Marqus is assisting Darren Petty, the owner and fiduciary advisor. Like Darren, Marqus ensures that he is always doing what is in the best interest of clients. He prides himself in maintaining a standard of respectability both in and away from the workplace. He wants clients to always feel welcomed and works to make they are never stuck waiting. “If clients need something,” says Marqus, “we take action right away. I am very astute when it comes to their financials. If they come to us with an issue, we work to solve it right away. We hold ourselves to very high work standards. We like to be approachable, but also professional.”
Away from work, Marqus attends Mission Hills Church. He loves participating in community activities like Western Welcome Week, The Christmas Parade, and other social events. His favorite hobby is golf, and he tries to play each weekend if possible. He loves to hang out with friends and family and says his siblings are his best friends.
Marqus also enjoys mountain trips on the weekends, either camping, hiking, or staying at his family’s cabin. When he has free time with no plans, he’s most likely watching some kind of sports, his favorites being basketball and football.
